Huayllabamba School

History:

Since the Foundation’s office is located in the district of Calca, it made a lot of sense for the organization to connect the Schools with a midpoint that also carries the rural DNA characteristic of Sinkumunchis. Thus, amid vast cornfields but with a touch of urban influence, the idea arose to include the communities and rural towns of the district of Huayllabamba. At that time, the president of the rural town of Huayoccari, Mr. Emeterio Gomez, supported the project alongside the local population. In 2023, the organization decided to open its doors there. In 2025, the project was submitted to the FIFA Foundation Fund 2025-2027, where it was selected as a winner, securing the sustainability of this school.

Geography & Location

The district of Huayllabamba is located 10 minutes from both Calca and Urubamba, right in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. It is a strategic hub for Sinkumunchis, serving as a midpoint between the Pisac School and the Maras School. Additionally, boys and girls from more urban areas also travel to be part of this beautiful and competitive school, situated at the foot of the Racchi archaeological site.
