Pacucha

History:

Following the sustained growth of the San Jerónimo School, several children and adolescents from the Pacucha district began traveling to Lliupapuquio and Champaccocha to participate in Sinkumunchis training sessions. Their enthusiasm was so great that they even sent a personal note to the organization's founders, requesting that the program also reach their area.

This gesture clearly reflected the community's need and desire to have its own Sinkumunchis School. After conducting a territorial assessment, speaking with families and local authorities, and raising the necessary funds, the Pacucha School was officially launched in October 2025 thanks to the support of the Kaphan Foundation. This expansion represents a new step in Sinkumunchis' growth in Apurímac, bringing sports, education, and opportunities to more rural communities in Andahuaylas.

Geography & Location

The Pacucha district is located approximately 30 minutes from the city of Andahuaylas, in an area renowned for its cultural, scenic, and historical richness. Its territory is home to the Pacucha lagoon, one of the region's main natural attractions, as well as the Sondor archaeological complex, an important ceremonial center of the Chanka culture.

The Pacucha School works mainly in the Pacucha Populated Center and the Argama Populated Center, communities located in a rural setting where soccer has become a tool for integration, learning, and development for children and adolescents.
