San Jerónimo

History (formerly Lliupapuquio):

At the end of 2023, Sinkumunchis knew that the next institutional step was to expand outside of Cusco. Professor Jorge Luis Fernández, a native of Andahuaylas who had worked as a coach at the Pisac School between 2022 and 2023, proposed bringing the project to his homeland, specifically to the San Jerónimo district in the province of Andahuaylas.

The project was initially designed for the communities of Lliupapuquio and Champaccocha, and succeeded in winning the Ruralia 2024 fund, a Peruvian business movement that finances rural education projects in the country. Thanks to this support, Sinkumunchis was able to open its first school outside of Cusco. Later on, in 2025, the San Jerónimo School was selected by the UEFA Foundation, which helped strengthen the program and make it sustainable in both communities.

Since then, San Jerónimo has become one of the Foundation's largest schools in terms of participant numbers. Additionally, in 2024, the school was crowned champion of the Cusco vs. Andahuaylas Interregional Tournament, a sporting event sponsored by Yape (Digital Wallet). Currently, the school works with children and adolescents from Lliupapuquio and Champaccocha, consolidating Sinkumunchis' presence in Apurímac.
