Our Sinkumunchis Youth Ambassador Program provides young adults with opportunities to better the world around them though sports.

The Sinkumunchis Youth Ambassador Program (YAP) connects the worlds of soccer and social impact by engaging students with a Peruvian nonprofit dedicated to establishing soccer schools in the Andes region. This offers a chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of underprivileged youth while helping with their own personal and leadership growth.

Three ways for Youth Ambassadors to get involved

Advocating & Fundraising

Sinkumunchis is a 501c3 non-profit in the United States and depends entirely on donations from people, companies or organizations. Even as a youth, and with limited time, you can contribute a great deal.

Friends & Family Donations: You can use our tools to email friends and family that are linked directly on our site, or even run your own GoFundMe.

“I raised $15,000 for Sinkumunchis by connecting them to just two donors who I didn’t know super well, but were motivated by the mission” - Youth Ambassador

Teams: We are looking for school and club teams that want to get involved as a team to raise monetary donations or form strategic alliances.

‘Bay Area Surf was pleased to support Sinkumunchis” - Surf Club Coach Yvan

Advocating and Awareness: We are always looking for youth and adult volunteers or interns that are interested in getting involved in any way. Whether it be people that can train and teach soccer in Cusco or people that want to get involved in a technology, marketing, design, or operations capacity from anywhere in the world.

You can help spread the word with local people and organizations that are interested in the development of education and/or sports in communities with limited resources.

Leading Special Projects

We offer a variety of ways for students to lead or support projects that fit into your busy lives and schedules (especially for student athletes!). Time commitments can be ongoing or just a one time investment. See below for ideas on how you can contribute,

Example Leadership Roles (higher commitment):

  • Website Lead - manage updates to the website or creation of new content for YAP

  • Social Media Lead - manage the YAP Instagram channel and contributions to the Sinku channels

  • Customer Management Lead - manage spreadsheet updates for those interested in staying informed about Sinku

  • Design Lead - Craft or update new designs for flyers or email to support getting the word out about Sinku

Example Projects (much lower commitment):

  • Collect cleats for players in Peru like Taj A did (2 hours)

  • Apply for a grant (cash gift for a nonprofit) for students to travel to Peru like Carter T did (6 hours)

  • Draft posts to social media (15 minutes)

  • Help your club or school team adopt a Sinkumunchis team (8 hours)

  • Hand out fliers to Peruvian restaurants (3 hours)

  • Recruit new YAP members like Carter T did

  • Update databases for fundraising like Ryan Y did (8 hours)

  • Update website like Winfred D did (6 hours)

  • Build a new webpage like Peri H did (5 hours)

Service Trips

Service trips for youth to Cusco Peru and surrounding communities began in August 2023 with two high schools represented. When on a service trip with Sinkumunchis, you might:

  • Shelter in community homes, getting a sense of the culture and people of Peru

  • Visit some of Sinkumunchis’s schools, help coach soccer games, play soccer with the kids, and ultimately contribute to a cause greater than yourself.
